Hello Swim Bowen,

Here's my story.

I began long distance swimming by accident.  In 2012, I was aqua running at the local pool as a recovery from a 50 mile Ultramarathon.  It occurred that it may be good to swim a few laps to stretch out my spine.  In the past, I had always struggled in finding my breath ratio, so I was surprised that on this occasion it occurred w/ easy. Three weeks later, I dedicated my aqua running time to doing laps with the curiosity to see just how far and long I could swim.

9.6 km in 3 hr 45 min later, I had to abandon the pool to make a dinner date.  I had no idea where that came from though it was thrilling and I wanted to explore the possibilities.

I've moved to the Lower Mainland since that time and subsequently crossed paths with Swim Bowen Society event.  I was moved by the cause, wanted to contribute and participate.  Unfortunately registration was full. at that time.  I've been following the society since and was looking forward to the 2020 event.  Here's to keeping everyone safe and looking forward to 2021 event.

Many thanks,

Leslie
